Collaborative projects

Les Pas pour Rire brisent le 4e mur

2023-2024

With funding from the ministère de la Culture et des Communications, this project enabled the company to make three visits to CHSLD Victor-Léger and Répit le Zéphyr. The aim was to make theatre accessible to people who would not normally have the opportunity to enjoy the performing arts. We also sought to encourage positive interactions among residents of the long-term care home to help challenge stereotypes.
Changer le monde avec un spectacle

2021-2022

A documentary video was created about the collaborative project between Les Pas pour Rire theatre company and Parrainage civique de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, which ran from June 2021 to March 2022 with financial support from the ministère de la Culture et des Communications.

Ten actors performed a play at Salle Paul-Émile-Meloche in Vaudreuil-Dorion on March 26, 2022. Profil Média filmed the preparations and produced a documentary video that aired on CSur la télé.

A Profil Média production

A documentary by filmmaker André Desrochers

André Desrochers is a filmmaker and director from Beauharnois whose many short films have brought the Suroît region to audiences around the world. His 70-minute film, Les Pas pour Rire – du théâtre pour vrai, follows the company behind the scenes and during its weekly rehearsal workshops. The actors share what they have learned, how they have challenged themselves and how theatre has helped them feel valued and part of society.

The film was screened:

  • For students in the Special Care Counselling program at Collège de Valleyfield
  • At the Festival Cinéma du Monde de Sherbrooke
  • At the Festival International du Film sur l’Art in Montreal
  • At the Fêtes Internationales de Théâtre in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield
